We finally arrive in the transfer location where we get on a bus and go the rest of the way to Bergen. We arrive at our Hotel Bergen Bors

We head out to the Fish Market for some supper. Where we ate is in the red tent area on the left in picture 1 and on the right in picture 2

Sharon says she had the best fish soup she's ever eaten and I had a good salmon. It was fresh!

The next day starts with a normal European GRAND breakfast

We had some free time so we went exploring. It ended up around lunch we wanted some soup. Well, there were a lot of people helping us get to a soup resturant and when we finally got to the recommended place---it was so packed we opted for the 2nd place recommendation called Cafe Opera.

We never made it to this old church (1894) on the hill called St John's Church Bergen. It is part of the Church of Norway (Lutheran denomination)

We visited Bergen which had a boat show going on at this time-along with some old vehicles on display. When I saw Sharon walking from a bus, it reminded me of Thomas and his STOCK bus outfit in Kingston.

Though, this next stop we did get a coffee and a donut. It seems in talking to my Little Sister Pauline, she was there in this starbucks and bought the same Destination mug that I bought. What a small world.

In the afternoon we visited the Bergenhus Fortress

Then we went to the Old Bergen Museum

At the top of the hill, some actors put on a play.

Viking houses, or at least royal halls, were painted entirely white.

Although Oslo may top Bergen with its highly innovative buildings and history, Bergen is no doubt far more scenic than Oslo. Seven mountains surround Bergen (yes, seven), and the most easily visited is Fløyen, which is reachable by funicular.

To note, during my time there (when my time was my own and not on an excursion, the fog or low clouds made the funicular an impracticality.

In the distance we notice 3 ships. Ours is the smallest in the middle.
